Leadership coach Jenni Catron’s new book, The 4
Dimensions of Extraordinary Leadership, explores what it means to lead from
your heart, soul, mind, and strength. The book includes a 28-question
leadership assessment to help the reader determine which of the four areas they
are strong in and which areas are weaker. Catron goes out to outline the 4
qualities of leadership with the strengths and weaknesses of each, especially
as applied in the context of Christian leadership.
With my background, I have read countless books on
leadership and undergone several leadership and personality assessment tools.
That being said, I must make it clear that I would count Catron’s book as entry
level reading on leadership, although leaders at any level can benefit from any
book on the topic. The personality assessment is not in-depth in any way.
However, if you are in a position of leadership at your church and looking for
tools and resources to help you develop your leadership skills, I would
strongly recommend this as a solid starting point in the study of leadership,
especially Christian leadership.
