The Bravehearted Gospel

A good friend of mine recently recommended that I listen to some messages by a pastor in Colorado named Eric Ludy.  I had never heard of him before, but trusted my friend enough to give him a shot.  Well, since then I have been listening to as many of his sermons as I have time for and I was able to borrow one of his books, The Bravehearted Gospel, from the library.  I was hoping to read it while recovering from surgery, but slept most of that time.  Nevertheless, yesterday I finished reading this wonderful book.

The heart of the book deals with the need to restore the "manly stuff" of the Christian life.  The brave, warrior, stand and fight for what is right, stuff of the Gospel.  It is not a call to make Christianity a man-thing.  It is a balanced call to make sure that we maintain the soft, gentle side of Christianity without losing the gritty, hard-nosed aspects such as fighting for truth.

One thing I have been looking for lately are books that say something that nobody else is saying or to deal with already addressed issues in a way that knocks me off my feet.  This book actually fits both criteria!

If I could review this book with a letter grade, I would give it an A-.  I highly recommend that you find a copy and read it soon!!  It is sure to challenge how you approach your daily life for Christ.

  1. This is the best book I have ever read in my life. This is the message the church needs to hear if it will be raised from the dead.
